Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

This place is super busy but lacks a quality of service and attention to detail. I ordered a vegetarian bowl. I was given literally one half of a scoop of rice. I only had veggies and salsas left. Seriously, pay attention to what you are doing and maybe try not to give attitude when someone asks for a little more rice so that they aren't eating a bowl full of salsa. Also, the bathrooms do not have changing tables for babies. Why have a kid's menu if you aren't family friendly? Did you want me to change the baby on the dirty floor? Pass on this place. There are plenty of other healthy options and locations to choose from.

By far the best chipotle in our area! They give you great amounts of food, they never skimp you out of food you are paying for!!

So, I am NOT a CHIPOTLE person. The only reason I went here, because my room-mate wanted to go and it was late Sunday lunch so we ended up here. I made myself a salad and got some chips on the side, it was pretty fresh food. The service was pretty good.

Our order got messed up but we came back to get it fixed we got a refund and the guy bought our order for us! Definitely will come back because I love chipotle!

I love Chipotle... BUT.. There is no hot water in the bathroom.. Obviously to save money. It sucks in the winter. The hot sauce is watered down.. again to save money. The music is way to loud and a bottled water cost $2.25. Other than that I do like the food for the most part!

Ever since this place has been been open in South Elgin I've loved it. The interesting thing about this place, is that you need seem to get sick of it. The burritos are awesome, and the meat is quality. The service can be rude sometimes, but rarely. They are very fast and I love that. The atmosphere is very energetic, and has a good Mexican culture feel. Definitely the best quick Mexican destination!

I usually get the chicken burrito bowl ($6.25). I've also tried their shredded beef tacos ($6.65). Both were delicious. But what set this location apart from the other Chipotles I've been to would be when my friend and I had come in one night, 15 mins before closing time. The two employees were very friendly. We asked if it was okay if we dined-in and ate quickly, and one employee reassured us that it was totally fine. He later checked in with us, that they'll be cleaning up a bit, but not to mind them and to take our time. We appreciated that, and even though it happened 6+ months ago, I still remember it. Bottom line - great value lunch option ;) ps - $2.05 for extra chicken in their burrito bowl

Staff here truly listens to you... And will make you what you want and any size you want. My son is 6'4" 260+ lbs and they completely accommodate his requests for extra rice and meat (meat has addition charge of course) and whatever else. Food is seasoned very well and we've never had any issues at this location... we'll even drive here before going to Geneva's (where they have yet to pay attention and always need to be asked 2,3 even 4 times for things or have to remake something when they use the wrong salsa). South Elgin's location has a friendly team who gets it right, clean location and tasty food. Five stars for a fast food joint in our book.

High quality fast food. Service is very good. The lines, at times, are almost out the door. Yet they get you through quickly. Three meals for $21 at that quality, hard to beat.

Very crowded Chipotle with all the regular options. Service was quick though.Sometimes difficult to get seats to sit.

Overstaffed on a Saturday afternoon, yet the employees could not keep up with the light traffic. The people working at the build station were focused on their conversations and the four people in the kitchen area looked like they were just grabbing utencils and walking around or leaning on counters. There was unnecessary confusion from the moment we ordered all the way to the register. I almost forgot to mention how someone dropped a pan and the employees all laughed and cheered. Normally this would not bother me but because I had been watching how unorganized, unfocused, and uninterested the majority of the staff seemed in quickly preparing all meals the 5 people in line ordered, it reminded me to Yelp. Its incredible how I underappricated the speedyness of other chipotles until I stopped in at this location. Its a franchise so the food tastes the same but the wait time and confusion left me with an unpleasant experience.

Two words: food poisoning. I had it and my coworker had it, after we had lunch here. This restaurant is not watching its inventory on the service line and serving old food. Don't risk it.

It's Chipotle, what more is there to say? Quality ingredients, fast service, and affordable. Plus, its very close to my school, so its always on the way to something. Can't really complain

I've always been a fan of Chipotle...especially their Cilantro lime rice. YUM! And with this being a franchise, you'd think all locations would be somewhat similar, right? It really depends on the staff. The staff here are friendly enough but not that attentive. I came in here during a slow time and was the only one in line. I should have been helped almost right away, right? Wrong. I basically waited 5 minutes because there was only 1 person working the line and he was busy with what I'm guessing was phone order? Once he was finished with that, he did take my order and was nice enough though the amount of food in my bowl was a little lacking. Granted I didn't ask for many ingredients, but the bowl was maybe half full. Overall my experience at this location was disappointing and I probably will go to the West Dundee or Hoffman Estates location when I really feel like eating Chipotle.

Excellent food for the price. Take advantage of asking for extra anything on your meal (rice, beans, etc), except meat, and thank me later. Barbacoa burrito wins everything.
